The Inclusive Innovation Equity Impact Fund supports District-based equity impact enterprises or businesses eligible to be equity impact enterprises with training and investment in the form of revenue or equity-based financing. Funds provided are not grants but investments that will be recycled into future investment rounds or additional education and training for businesses in the city.
An equity impact enterprise is a DC resident-owned, small business that is at least 51% owned by an individual who is, or a majority number of individuals who are, economically disadvantaged or have been subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias. Businesses that will receive funding should have less than $2,000,000 in annual revenues. Finally, to be eligible, the applicant must certify in writing that the business is unable to obtain conventional financing or is a business enterprise that cannot reasonably be expected to qualify for financing under the standards of commercial lending.
1863 Ventures administers the funds and is responsible for final decisions on funding.
